Introducing Casey

We lost one of our dogs a few days ago. He was just a little stray mutt that showed up last year, but had a big personality; and was one of the favorites that we've had. We're going to miss him.

Of course our other dog had to have a new playmate, so the search was on. We found this little guy yesterday. He's a medium sized (hopefully) mixed breed, and about 4 monthes old.

Meet Casey

We are a family that does not have dogs in the house. Cats, okay. Dogs, no. Dogs belong outside. We have 20 acres for them to roam on, they do not need to be in the house! We do have a puppy pen we keep them in till they're fully vaccinated - we learned that lesson a few years back after losing one to Parvo. A horrible disease!

So we get this little guy home and go to put him in the puppy pen. And, we realize very quickly he ain't stayin in that pen! He's so small he fits right through the holes in the fence, so out he came. Should have bought fence wire with smaller holes.

Guess where that puppy's staying?

yep!

Doesn't Jacob look like he's getting a lot of algebra done ? :)

How Much Longer Till Spring?

I know that winter is beautiful...

and fun...

but sometimes it's a real pain!

Oh yeah, I did good.

Of course the last time I did this, it was up to the front bumper. My dear hubby should be pleased with me this time :) Thank goodness for tractors!

New Friends

We've been going through a lot of dog food lately. I couldn't figure out why our two dogs were so hungry all of a sudden.

My kids looked out the kitchen door one afternoon to find that we had a little friend.

We've been chasing him away, but he's very persistent. I think he's living under the house.

Nice.

Then a few nights ago we found this.

Oh yeah, very nice.

So now we have two new pets. Guess I oughta be thinking of names :/

(Forgive the blurriness of the pictures; they were taken through the kitchen door. We sure weren't going to go outside with them-not that dedicated as a blogger!)

The Old Year Out, The New Year In

The old year ended with a trip, and the new year started with a trip.

The last Sunday of the year, Michael fell on the ice and took a trip to the ER. After 5 hours of waiting, x-rays showed only a badly sprained elbow. We're just thankful it wasn't broken!

On New Years Day we drove to Arkansas to spend the weekend with my sister Lynne and her family. We always have a such a fun time together. Lots of laughs!

Oh, my! Lynne and I have matching chins :)

Michael insists he won because he has the most cards!
Ha! Wrong game, Son!

I love this picture of Jacob

Thanks, Lynne, for a great weekend!

I Don't Get It!

So when I preview my post, it looks good. As soon as I publish it, the blog monster chews it up and spits it back out! Maybe one of these days I'll figure it out.

Anyway, now that I've vented my frustration, I can get on with my post.

We had a good Christmas in spite of the blizzard. We got stranded at my mom's house, along with my sister and her husband that live in Arkansas. My other sister and her kids live across the street from my mom, so we all got an extra day together. Lots of time for fun, food, and fellowship. Sarah Grace and Aunt Lynne went outside and had a snow fight

We woke up Christmas morning to about 6" with some 3' drifts

My nephew Zachary and son Michael (who insists on wearing shorts even while playing in the snow-what's the deal?)

My Mom lives on a great sledding hill - I slid down it a lot growing up, and now my kiddos get the same fun!

Christmas morning I had to wake every one else up! Every Christmas since my kids were little I've been the one pacing the house waiting for them to get up! I guess I just get too excited!

Granny's ready to get going : )

Merry Christmas Aunt Lou!

My dear hubby

Bethany, Sarah, and my niece Kendra got matching bags handmade by Granny

Christmas night we all played games. Imaginiff is a great crowd pleaser - hilarious!

We all had a wonderful Christmas! Thank you Jesus for your birthday!
